An enjoyable read...but her heros and heroines all seem the same.

I was initially excited to discover another author of Regencies that don't put me to the blush with bodice-ripping tendencies. My first enthusiasm has faded somewhat. If you have read and enjoyed other books by this author, then you will likely enjoy this one...after all, her heros and heroines in the four of her books that I have read have basically the same personalities...which, since I have read the four books relatively close to each other, has become a little annoying. I think I'll space out future reading from this author. The story was good and I enjoyed the book, but here are my other issues:
-I am noticing that this author tends to fill her books with a lot of describing thoughts over and over...a lot of description. I didn't notice it, or find it irritating until the third book.
-there was the potential for a secondary romance (I love that kind of thing!) that I feel like most authors would have taken advantage of. By the half-way point I had realised that it wasn't likely...by 75% I had given up hope, then BAM there was one glancing reference that left me more annoyed than anything. Urgh!
-the author makes a confusing error with the hero's name. At the beginning, his brother's title is the same as their sister's last name so one would think that it would also be the hero's last name. Not so....for no possible reason that I can see. Also, his commanding officer calls him by the sister's last name/brother's title long before he inherits said title. The hero's name is stated right at the beginning of the book so I can only assume that the author has some incorrect understanding of titles etc.

A straight forward account of the battle. Kindle's biggest limitation is that it doesn't handle maps at all well. You have to go to other sources (google) for that. -- There's the account of the battle. Really, it was the last time the old (Nelson) style ship/fleet battle took place. So for this it is worth reading. A nice flavor of the times. -- You need to look elsewhere for the various interpretations of whether the Brits actually "won" this one. End of an era. After this the final great sea battles were in the Pacific and made Nimitz and Halsey and Spruance the last great commanders in the tradition we often associate with the British Navy.

There are other accounts that implicate the British command structure prevalent at that time. (The Germans escaped, (a) because the British fleet turned AWAY when the German destroyers put up a screen and the German fleet snuck behind and the Ship's officer who saw this could do nothing about it because the command structure was rigid and did not permit independent initiative. (Compare with Spruance and Nimitz later, in the Pacific expecting their local commanders to use their initiative consistent with overall objectives.)

Worth the price. Just for the account and the historical flavor of the account.

About the Author
Craig Dirgo is the best-selling author of The Einstein Papers, The Tesla Documents, and Gunnison Grit. He also co-authored several books with the masterful Clive Cussler including The Sea Hunters I and II, Golden Buddha and Sacred Stone - all New York Times best sellers. One of six children of an Air Force Colonel, Dirgo grew up on air bases in the United States and England before finally settling in Colorado. A part-time job washing and waxing classic cars led to meeting Clive Cussler, acclaimed author and founder of NUMA National Underwater and Marine Agency, a non-profit historical research foundation. When an opportunity arose to co-author a book about NUMA, Cussler asked Dirgo to take on the task. The result was the New York Times best seller, The Sea Hunters. This was followed by Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt Revealed and The Sea Hunters II. While working with Cussler, Dirgo also began writing on his own and soon thereafter published his first John Taft adventure, The Einstein Papers. Taking some time away from ocean adventures and writing, Dirgo formed several small businesses, moved back to the mountains he loves and concentrated on skiing and hiking. In 2010-11, he skied 115 days thus achieving a lifelong goal of skiing more than 100 days in a season. In 2012 Dirgo published his first eBook novel, Gunnison Grit, a work of historical fiction set in Gunnison County, Colorado. He followed this work with re-issues in electronic format of The Einstein Papers and The Tesla Documents (originally published in paperback under the title Tremor.) Please proofread context and grammar.

The book book was historically quite interesting, at least to me, since I was not too interested in knowing everything I was taught in physical science! My only problem with this book was in the use of correct grammar and syntax! I don't know how translation of original print to e-book format is done, but it needs to be proofed before released. This book was a bit better than the Einstein Papers but not by much. My advice, hire a proof reader before sending material to the great ether in the sky to be downloaded to Kindle! Thank you for allowing me to comment.

Speechless

I have waited for this book to hit the market since i finished book 3, and the moment I heard that it was available on Amazon I had my kindle at my side and bought it. In no time flat I finished this book, completely lost in the words Kelly has put together to make such an amazing book! Our favorite characters are back and better than ever. No matter how hard it is, they are facing their challenges head on to live for a better tomorrow, or just to even live tomorrow. As drama unfurls and truths are made known to Jade, everything she knows and believes to be the truth is put to the test. My heart pounded, my temper flared, I felt anguish, relief, and so many emotions with our characters as I turned every page. The ending was definitely a surprise to me, I won't say what it is though; wouldn't want to spoil it for you. Kelly has outdone herself in this installment of the evolution series, with a perfect ending I am sure none of us saw coming. With plot twists at every twist and turn, you will not become bored and you turn the pages.

Revenge can be Justice

If one is so crazy and evil then it depends on what his/her punishment should be. Perhaps killing would be too good for the individual. There are other justifiable punishments in the world. As long as you truly have someone to trust and love in the end then everything leads to pure happiness and glory. The future holds this for many people. I loved tis series from start to finish. For any of you searching for young love, teen romance, sci-fi type stuff then series is just for you.

WOW FIVE STARS AND MORE

THIS SERIES WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!! Lots of twists and plots and action and romance plus each book ended in a cliffhanger. Unstoppable reading could not put down read in a weekend. Now its like what am I gonna do now as I was so into these books and I am lost. They were so good I could not read quick enough. am hanging out for more of your books Kelly so keep writing. I am a busy mum so stories like this I just lose myself in them. These are a must read!!!!!!
