Graphic

"Slaves of the Copper Coast" is a story about real slavery. It is simply the normal way of life in Kupro Marbordo, the Copper Coast. Told in first person, James tells the tale of his indoctrination to becoming a Master to the slaves he is given and owns.
I will read just about anything and not much offends me. However, I am not a fan of enema scenes and I found the tampon scene in this story to be beyond disgusting.
Heed the book's warning; "This book contains scenes of a sexual nature, graphic violence against women and strong language...."

IF SLAVERY IS YOUR TASTE, THIS IS IT
By IRISHLASS
This dealt with true slavery & not the BDSM type either. This was a free book so I took a chance, but this wasn't my reading taste. There was a secondary character I enjoyed seeing get her "just desserts" but the story as a whole was unsettling because of the slave issue.

A very Joseph Conrad Sort of Erotica Novel (in a good way)
By Pat Powers
I enjoyed this book despite the fact that the majority of its erotic content was not to my taste, because the author has invented a very interesting and compelling slave-holding society in Kupro Marbodo, aka The Copper Coast. The protagonist, James Baxter, is an up-and-coming young trader who is sent overseas by his firm to level up the quality of the trading in the Copper Coast. Coming from a prudish but very socially stratified society (think early twentieth century England) which does not engage in slavery, he is a bit apprehensive about life in the Copper Coast, but soon finds he fits in like a glove, because he REALLY likes to spank and paddle round female butts, something he is not only free to do, but actively encouraged to do, in the Copper Coast.
And this is the part that was not to my taste, pain not only does not turn me on, it mildly squicks me. Whenever I see the spanking or flogging start in an adult video I fast forward past it, and this is what I quickly wound up doing in "Slaves Of The Copper Coast," as well as with whizzing past the enema scene and the tampon scene, neither of which did a thing for me. But if flogging and spanking light up your eyes, you will probably enjoy the erotic content of this book a lot more than I did, as there is plenty of it.
Still, Kenyon does a very good job of portraying life for an upper-crust expatriate living in the Copper Coast, where the villa he has rented comes with its own comely female slave, who serves him in all ways, including sexually, and of course gets some butt-paddling as well. There's plenty of dominance and submission and some humiliation in the treatment of the slaves. It helps a LOT that Baxer is portrayed as a basically benevolent slaveowner, caring for his slaves' welfare even though he does treat them as slaves and paddles their butts now and then. I would not go so far as to call it an erotic ROMANCE, but Baxter's benevolence keeps the story from being one of those anti-romances that some male erotica writers produce (looking at you, "Human Commodity").
Kenyon's Copper Coast is a fascinating fictional land, enough like the slaveholding lands of the Caribbean to make some readers uncomfortable, but different enough in details to make you think it might be set in an alternate history. Kenyon's story has a Joseph Conrad/H. Rider Haggard/Rudyard Kipling feel to it, with resolute young Englishmen setting out to make their fortunes in a foreign land, only to find themselves changed by that land, unable to return to the naive creature he once was. Like John Norman's Gor, it's a setting that allows for sex slavery fantasies but has great depth and authenticity, so much so that the combination of sex slavery erotica and a well-developed world makes for a very good read.
